What We Do

What We Do

Social and Educational Support:

At Hridaypur Srija, we help 60 students in their studies by giving them coaching support. They come from lower class family where poverty is continues so they can not afford minimum school supplies such as books, bags etc. Most of the kids are interested in cultural studies but due to lack of money they can not afford these too. So their talent goes in vain. If they can get support in their interest of cultural learning by obtaining cultural studies supplies, they can have a better future.

There are some students above 14 years of age, they took can’t afford their school fees and minimum school supplies. So they fall behind in their studies. Through this project we can help them with school fees and school supplies so they can get a better future.

To encourage the students about studies and to read books a library is a must have option.  If we can provide them some good books to read and some reference books for their studies, it will help them for their mental growth.

We give 60 students free coaching assistance per week for 2days. To ensure better assistance we need teaching materials such as blackboard etc. If we can provide these to our students can go through a better learning process.

We also look after the health of these students. To maintain the health condition of our students, we regularly arrange students and guardian meetings to help them understand benefits of health awareness. But to maintain good health they need nutritional foods. If we can provide our students nutritional foods on a daily basis it will help them.

Library:

We have a functioning library. Weprovide text books and story books as per requirement of our students. Hopefully soon we will be able to provide more books.

Literary Activities:

We publish our annual wallmagazine NABANKUR . We also publish our annual literary magazine UPAL .

Cultural Activities:

We have a cultural centre, namedACADAMY, where we provide lessons in dance, drawing and hand crafts. Students can also appear in exams at said categories. Our students make crafts with the junks people throw out and what we can recycle. It helps our environments and teaches kids to recycle.

HealthCamps:

We organize health checkup camps. We also organize Blood Group Determination Camp and Dental Check-up Camp. With the help of local doctors we also provide time to time checkups. With the help of Jadavpur University we provide mental counseling to our students.

 Meetings:

We held monthly meetings for our students, guardians and teachers. Here they can share their thoughts to each other.

 Annual Programmes:

We have an annual cultural programme where we have several competition to boost our students’ confidence, such as, drawing competition, dance competition etc. very year with the support of DAAN UTSAV, we take our kids to Nicco Park for recreational and educational tour. Goals

Present Goal

To help less fortunate kids in their studies and help them to be self-sufficient in order to have a better future.

Future Goals

Day Care

To help single parents we like to build a day care center for kids. It will help the kids to be free from bad influences around them and help them grow a knack for studies and extra curriculum activities. With the help of our library we can also encourage them to grow a habit of reading.

Old age home and Orphan Home

Senior citizens need someone to talk to, besides fellow residents, and the orphans can benefit from meeting adults who aren't their caretakers, on a regular basis. Provided, there're enough caretakers who are able to look after both senior citizens and little children. They could easily pass their time by engaging themselves in teaching those kids, helping them in doing homework, packing their lunch boxes in the morning, plaiting the kids, playing with them rather than chit chatting with the fellow mates The orphan kids will get a good company to share things that happened in their school or their day to day life. They will get a good grandparents from whom they can hear stories, values and morals especially the ones who can really assist them with their studies.

Women's shelter

It will be a place of temporary protection and support for women escaping domestic violence and intimate partner violence of all forms. We will be with women who live in poverty, most of whom have never had an education and are victims of domestic abuse. Hopefully we like to provide counseling, support groups and skills workshops to help women move on independently, which brings us to our next goal…

Skilled Workshops for Women

This programme will help women in need to get back on their feet. We want to offer a various sets of skilled workshop programme, such as Stitching and sewing training, Beautician training, early childhood care and education training etc. With the help of these workshops then can find a new goal in their lives.
